Reflection on the week 5 seminar:
Lecture:
On the 26th of February 2018, the lecture session our tutor "Bilal Haider" had covered an interesting topic that many organizations could face as a big problem on their daily operations and was about " Information systems crimes, security & Controls".
On the 26th of February 2018, the lecture session our tutor "Bilal Haider" had covered an interesting topic that many organizations could face as a big problem on their daily operations and was about " Information systems crimes, security & Controls".
Accordingly, to the lecture, I was able to obtain a general understanding of the reasons that lead to facing and witnessing problematic " information systems crimes, security & controls". In the lecture, we also discussed the Factors, ways, and uses of the tools that are more likely to be used to perform this criminal, harmful acts towards organization in order to damage their systems. for instance, we have mentioned computer viruses, most computer crimes, Denial of service attack and spyware, Spam/ CAPTCHA/ spim, and phishing. As well as the factors we looked out at things that can protect our systems. for example, Computer ethics, safeguarding information systems resources, reducing risks approach technological safeguards.
The lecture of this week opened things up for me and helped me to have a better understanding by listening to the lecturer explanation and watching videos that he showed us.
Seminar:
On the 2ed of March 2018, attending the seminar was useful and practical as usual as we learn much things on it that rearguards and concentrate on the software Excel, which I think it an important way of practice the will help us in our daily life performance and operations within organizations in the future. The seminar this week was mainly about a new formula that covered all the exercises we had done, and this latter was about "IF & Nested-IFs Functions". The formula that has been taught on this seminar could be as complicated as the inquiries of several values that we focus on to put, for example, grades or logical values in order to the existing data.

we as students had the chance to tape-in exercises on Excel spreadsheet and practice the formulas couple of times, as in fact, mistakes are expected to be made and struggle might allow us to move forward, our tutor was in there and step-in all times whenever someone had a question, by his support and instructions I was able to learn practically the use of the formula which made me feel I am not there yet but with the progress of each week I would be able to gather a lot of learning skills at the end of the semester.
Group work:
concerning my group work, we are slowly progressing which has made our tutor getting back to us by telling us that we are a step late which means that we are one week behind where we should be. however, this week we have arranged the date and the day when we are going to go to the business place that we have already chosen to book an appointment with them in order to ask them questions accordingly to our assignment and that would be about the daily operations of the business.
